TREETOPS: OUR BASE FOR CHILDREN WITH AUTISM

Pupils in Treetops will have and Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) with a primary need of social communication or autism.

Our ARP is designed to support pupils with primary needs related to autism, alongside social communication, who are already using language to communicate.

Our pupils are primarily in the language and conversational partner stages of development in the SCERTS framework. This means they can use words and symbols to share thoughts and feelings, be able to engage in some form of reciprocal conversation and demonstrate an interest in others.

It is expected that pupils will access formal learning and the national curriculum, with specialist support.

Admissions to our Treetops SEND unit is entirely separate from places in the main school. Joining the mainstream school will not advance admissions into Treetops.
