West Wimbledon Primary School is committed to working with other local schools, most notably within the family of Merton schools. We are extremely proud to be a maintained school and value the collaborative approach that being part of a local authority can bring to a school.
We work closely with our local cluster of primary schools, as well as enjoying an excellent relationship with Raynes Park High School.
We have also developed a significant relationship with King’s College School, whose Duke of Edinburgh ‘A’ level students work closely with Year 5 children, and, last year, we were delighted to foster a new partnership, this time with Wimbledon High School. Initially it brought specialist Latin tuition to West Wimbledon Primary School for our more able Year 6 children.
This year, the partnership has blossomed: with both school’s Senior Leadership Teams meeting at each other’s schools and our joint working has seen a Year 4 General Knowledge quiz, hosted at West Wimbledon Primary School, parallel debating clubs, a Big Bang Science fair at WHS which some our of Year 5s visited, access to the Saturday Shine Project for eight of our children, as well as visits to a number of performances at Wimbledon High School.
From September, all of our Year 4 swimming lessons will take place at Wimbledon High School, saving the School a great deal of money and ensuring that our children have access to the kinds of facility and swimming instruction they deserve.
